In June I purchased my first 2 pairs of Tory Burch flats.
Interestingly when they first started popping up on my radar I hated them! I never like the “scrunched” up look of the elastic at the back of the heel – on any shoe actually – or elastic all the way around. I guess they sort of grew on me and I did think they were great from the front. So I went ahead and purchased the Reva Saffiano in red and the Reva leopard print.
I just started wearing the Leopard version which has calf hair on the outside making it more of a cooler weather shoe and it is so comfortable! I knew that all Tory flats tend to run small so I ordered a 7 and 7.5 of both, though I am normally a 6.5 or 7. I kept the 7 in these and love them. They look great with leggings too.
The red ones though caused me problems from the start. I tend to go smaller on most shoes because I feel shoes stretch and I hate having a too big of a shoe. I will suffer for fashion but that’s for another post lol. Anyway, I tried the 7 on and though they fit ok lengthwise, the front left part of the opening was digging into my joint. Normally I’d say it’ll stretch and I’d suffer if I really love the shoe but it was painful with every step. So I decided to keep the 7.5 with that section still hurting, even in the bigger size, but I’m thinking you know it just has to stretch. I will break it in.
Well, 3 months later same problem and I can’t wait to take them off at the end of the day-even before the day is over. I contacted Nordstrom.com which is where I got them from and to my delight they said I can return it-free return shipping-and get a full refund! That made me so relieved. I would have continued to wear them because at that price you don’t just toss ’em away but they were really painful. And I wear 6″ heels without a problem.
To replace them (I had no choice :/) I just purchased the Eddie in Patent grey. I tried the style on in the store and they did feel comfortable. I ordered a 7, fingers crossed. They are a very light grey so I kinda feel like they are a neutral.
Will keep you guys posted! I’d love to hear your Tory Burch experiences!
